Oregon Urban and Community Forestry Conference
- This annual event is March 11 in Eugene, and the theme is "Natural Disaster Planning Within the Urban Forest." Speakers will provide valuable
insights for planning and responding to storms and other natural disasters and minimizing the impacts on an urban forest. A block of lodging rooms is being held at the Eugene Hilton; the rate is $71 per night which meets government per diem rates. The hotel cut-off date is Friday February 11. Register by February 15 to take advantage of early registration rates.
Writing for Easy Reading
- This training, offered by the Oregon Dept. of Administrative Services, will provide information on producing "reader friendly" business writing. The training will be held on Feb. 17, from 1:00 - 4:30 pm at the State Library building in Salem.

- The Grant Institute’s Grants 101 Course is an intensive and detailed introduction to the process, structure, and skill of professional proposal writing. The course will be held at Humboldt State University, Arcata, Ca., on January 31 - February 2, 2005.
Situational Leadership: The Core
- "The Core" is named to represent the center, a foundation, or nucleus from which leaders can derive proper action. This course provides managers and supervisors with a complete understanding of Situational Leadership® concepts and use of the model.
